Out with it: things you don’t need in your living spaces
Chillin’ at home this fine ***day evening? Well take a good look around, my friend. Chances are you’re surrounded by a lot of useless living room clutter. Friday is fast approaching and we know you want to impress your date. So grab a box and start tossing!
- Silk plants. Be gone with the dust-collecting fake greenery. If you can’t grow a simple vine then we don’t want to see your pitiful attempt at vegetation. Replace it with a real houseplant or a photo of your mom. You know you probably need one.
- Valance. Really? What, is this 1996? Pull down the crummy window coverings and replace with a simple roman shade or nice set of wooden blinds. Both your inside and outside friends will be happy.
- CDs/DVDs & pretty much anything non-digital. You’re a young professional in the full-fledged digital age. So we don’t need to see your stack of romantic comedies or Boyz ll Men anthology. Burn them to your hard drive and file them away. We’ll all be the happier for it.
- Paper lanterns. We love IKEA. Really, really do. But filling your living room with enough paper lanterns to qualify you as Chinatown is indeed a bit much. Ditch ‘em and splurge for some less-flammable replacements.
