‘Tis the season to get down and frightened. So to celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of destinations from across the U.S. that fit the bill of being both fun destination and delightfully haunted.
Georgia’s moss-draped jewel is a mecca for those on the other side. Make way to Savannah’s downtown area, which includes the Historic District and Victorian Historic District, and explore beautiful cobblestone streets and eerie parks. To make the most of it, get the insider’s scoop from paranormal professionals and book a trip with one of Savannah’s many guided tours. Blue Orb Ghost Tours features both an Orb “411” Tour and a City of the Dead Tour. Feeling BRAVE? Take the Midnight Zombies Tour, which begins at midnight and explores Colonial Park Cemetery and more!
If you’re not so brave but still curious about the paranormal, then Baltimore has the perfect experience for you – a haunted pub walk! The Fells Point Haunted Pubwalk, brought to you by the folks at Baltimore Ghost Tours, will guide you through one of Baltimore’s oldest and most historic neighborhoods (we’re talking a la late 1700’s, people. OLD. And very haunted!) The tours run every Saturday night from June through November and lasts approximately 2 hours.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Get lost in the haunted history of The City That Care Forgot. Even experienced ghost hunters call this a must-see city because you never know what you may find while walking along the streets of the French Quarter. Yes, there is much more than just Bourbon Street! And the best part? You have a variety of options to choose from! Take a theatrical walking tour of the French Quarter, experience the above ground city of the dead with a Cemetery Tour, take a journey through Anne Rice’s stomping grounds with a Vampire Tour, or experience the mystical world with a Voodoo Tour!
Las Vegas, Nevada
Well beyond The Strip, there is Haunted Vegas Tours. A little cheekier than our previous suggestions, Haunted Vegas will provide you all the spook without the fright. The 2.5 hour tour, which is perfect for you scaredy cats, will take you to the haunting grounds of long-gone Vegas celebrities as well as the infamous “Hotel of Death.” Ooo-ooo-ooo!
