The weeks between Halloween and Christmas can be a little tricky in the decorating department – especially if you don’t want a house filled with little plastic pilgrims and ceramic turkeys. And we DON’T want that! You can make your decor fresh, light and festive by simply keeping the clutter out and bringing the colors in!
Color Palette – Just look out your window for inspiration. A color palette of oranges, yellows, reds, deep greens and browns will do the trick.
Swap-a-Roo -Take a look around your place to see where you can easily swap items out and add a few in. We’re talking pillows, candles, throws and small decorative items. Hit up your local discount and big box stores to find inexpensive yet color appropriate replacements.
The Good Stuff – Use what nature gives us! Pick up a few brightly colored leaves during your next walk or run, just make sure that they are dry. (Nobody wants a wet leaf in the house!) Add them to a wreath, layer them in a vase or simply magnet a few to your refrigerator for instant fall in the house.
Fruits and Veggies – During your next trip to the grocery or fruit stand, pick up an assortment of fruits and veggies in the same color palette. Apples, oranges, lemons, gourds and nuts make for excellent fall decoration. And always try to use these beautiful items in the simplest of ways, just place them in a clear bowl and voila! You’ve got instant magnifique!
