Another year under your belt – phew! You made it through relatively unscathed with just one little hiccup back in the summer when you accidentally ate the VP’s lunch instead of your own (they looked identical in the fridge!).
Every year, we all come up with resolutions and generally, by about January 15th, they have gone out the window. So, your first resolution is to stick to your resolutions, right? Right!
On your path to ultimate responsibility in your company, think about how your resolutions can accelerate your five-year plan (you should have one by now). Rather than resolving to get to work on time, for example, how about making that resolution to get to work 15 minutes earlier every day? And, while you’re at it, resolve to stay later than your boss at least three days a week. Even if you’re just sifting through your reader online, at least he’ll see that you’re burning the oil past his exit window!
So, those two are simple. How about ways to save money? Instead of buying a coffee every day on the way to work, make it at home and take it with you. Or try out the office coffee. “It’s gross!” you say? Buy a container of flavored creamer and make the best of it!
Then, resolve to eat a lunch from home at least two days a week. You can save as much as $1,000 a year doing this!
Also consider exercising at lunch, even if it’s just a walk around a block or two. It’ll help you burn calories and relieve stress at the same time!
