New York vs. New England – we’ll have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to find out which team will win but until then we’ll be busy thinking up recipes for our super gathering. To get started, we’ve assembled the following recipes to celebrate the spirit of each team. Make a few from each to support with unbiased flare!

New England Recipes

New England Lobster Spread

Seafood is a staple in New England and we can’t think of better way to celebrate it than with an easy to make Lobster Spread. We love this recipe because it is basic and allows you to modify according to your taste.

1/2 lb lobster meat, cooked, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise

In a small bowl combine all ingredients except for the crackers. Cover and chill mixture for at least 2 hours. Serve on the crackers.

Modification: we added in 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and 2 tablespoons of chives.

Beer Brewed Hot Dogs

Boiling hot dogs in beer will add a unique and subtle flavor to ordinary hot dogs.

Hot Dogs
6 12 oz. Beers, preferably a New England brew

Start by picking up a six-pack of your favorite New England brew. When your guests are getting hungry, fill a large stockpot with enough beer to allow them to float freely. The amount of beer will depend on the number of hot dogs, but do not fill the stockpot more than 3/4 full.

Bring the beer to a boil. Place hot dogs into the stockpot and cook for 5 minutes per eight hot dogs. Remove the hot dogs and serve.

Mini Crab Cakes

Back to seafood, these mini crab cakes are easy to make and scrumptious to eat!

New York Fare

There’s so much to love about NYC cuisine that we had a bit of a time picking our favs. But if there’s one thing that we couldn’t leave out it’s PIZZA! Save a few bucks by using store bought pizza and jazzing it up with fresh toppings. Check out our ideas here.

New York Pretzels Bites With Cheddar Cheese Beer Sauce

A hearty and satisfying appetizer, tasty pretzel bites work perfectly with a cheddar cheese beer dipping sauce. To top it off, the combo pairs oh so well with a crisp Riesling.
