Wine & Snack Party Ideas

Having some friends over? Hosting a party? Whatever the occasion, wine and snacks should always be on the menu!

While there are plenty of wine & cheese ideas that have been written, we thought the world could use one with a few more food pairing options. The more snacks the better, yes?

For this setup we’ve selected a great spread of snacks and paired it with Riesling, the perfect wine for a food spread. Riesling is known as the best food wine in the world because of its balance of acidity and fruit. It is a great match for a wide range of flavors – so there’s no better choice for a snack night or anytime you’re feasting on a wide range of flavors.

Our picks:

We suggest a variety of nibbles and bites to play up Riesling’s total food-friendliness.

Dips & Chips: You can’t go wrong with salsa and guac, but you can include any of your fav dips here.

Spicy bites: Look in the deli section of your local grocery or hit up the freezer aisle for easy-peasy spicy chicken bites. If you go the frozen route, we suggest baking them. It’s easier – and healthier!

Greek yogurt dip: Mix together 2 cups of plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup diced seedless cucumber, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice,
2 teaspoons minced garlic, 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill and salt and pepper to taste. Voilà, a delish and healthy dip!

Pep & cheese: We couldn’t put together a wine night without cheese and decided to add in a few more tasty options like turkey pepperoni and mini bagel pizzas! As for cheese choices, Cheddar adds a nice sharp bite, we also suggest Smoked Gouda, a creamy Blue or Parmesan.

Salty: Gather up your favorite snacks in a variety of bowls and containers to pack a presentation punch! For this spread we opted for onion rings, pre-popped cheddar popcorn and our fav, cheese crackers.

Other wine night tips:

  • Label your spread with chalkboard paper, chalkboards or use chalkboard spray paint on the glass of old picture frames
  • Mix up your snack bowls and look around your house for fun containers to display your bites
  • Provide guests with water and other drinks of choice
  • Use different colored wine glasses or labels to ensure there are no mixups!
