Looking for a festive St. Patrick’s Day drink that’s NOT green beer? Try one of these refreshing and delicious sangria recipes, Rainbow Riesling Sangria and St. Paddy’s Pinot Sangria. Bonus, they’re pretty to look at!

RAINBOW RIESLING SANGRIA

Ingredients

Legend has it that leprechauns keep their pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. So we can consider this recipe pretty much golden.

Rainbow Sangria

1 cup red grapes
1 cup green grapes
1 cup pineapple, diced
1 cup mandarin oranges
1 cup raspberries
1 bottle of RELAX Riesling
1 cup ginger ale or club soda

Directions

Layer the fruit in a pitcher or individual glasses. Start with the red grapes and go in order of the list above. You’ll want the raspberries to be your last (top) layer. Tall skinny glasses or a wine carafe will work best to keep the layers in place.

Fill half of the glass or pitcher with RELAX Riesling. You can adjust this to your tastes by using even more wine, or all wine! Fill up the remainder with ginger ale or club soda.

TIPS! Make things super easy by using canned, diced pineapple. You can also used canned mandarin oranges or even those found in fruit cups. If you don’t like one of these fruits or really like something else, you can totally substitute another fruit of a similar color (ex. use strawberries instead of raspberries). Plan on using more fruit if you’re using a larger pitcher, a full pitcher of fruit is key to keeping the layers in place.

ST. PADDY’S PINOT SANGRIA

1 bottle of RELAX Pinot Grigio
1/2 cup sugar
1 shot of Irish Whiskey
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1 starfruit, sliced
1 cucumber, sliced
1 green apple, cut into wedges
2 cups club soda

Directions StPattys_600a

Pour wine into the pitcher. Add sugar and whiskey. Stir well. Toss in the fruit and cucumber.

Chill overnight.

Add club soda just before serving.

TIPS! You can substitute Riesling for Pinot Grigio. If you prefer a sweeter sangria, substitute ginger ale for club soda. If you’d like more of a citrus flavored sangria, try adding a little orange juice or limeade. Any of the fruit can be swapped out according to taste, kiwi and pineapple would also make great additions!
